The 2nd International AASMG and TMGGA Joint Conference 2026 welcomes researchers, clinicians, geneticists, genetic counsellors, genomic scientists, trainees, and students to share their research, clinical experiences, and innovative work in medical genetics and genomics.

We invite abstract submissions that contribute to the advancement of genetics, genomics, genetic counselling, and related fields, and that encourage knowledge exchange and collaboration across Asia, Southeast Asia, India, Africa, Europe, and beyond.

Join us in Bangkok to exchange ideas, share new discoveries, and help shape the future of medical genetics and genomics.

Submission Opens

Submission Deadline

The submission deadline may be extended. Any extension will be announced by the Organizing Committee.

Presentation Types

Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format when submitting their abstract.

Oral Presentation

Selected abstracts will be invited for Oral Presentation during the scientific program of MGGA 2026. Oral presenters will be allocated a designated presentation session and presentation time.

Detailed presentation guidelines will be provided to accepted Oral Presenters at a later date.

E-Poster Presentation

Selected abstracts will be presented as E-Posters during the conference.

E-Poster presenters are expected to be available during the designated e-poster viewing period to answer questions, discuss their work, and interact with conference delegates.

Please indicate your preferred presentation type when submitting your abstract. However, the preferred presentation type does not guarantee the final presentation format. The final format will be determined by the Scientific Committee based on the scientific content, quality, relevance, and suitability of the submitted abstract for the conference program.

Abstract Topics

Abstracts should be submitted under one of the following scientific categories.

  1. Clinical Genetics, Rare Diseases and Reproductive Genetics

    Research and clinical experiences related to clinical genetics, inherited disorders, rare diseases, reproductive genetics, prenatal genetics, and related areas.

  2. Molecular Genetics & Cytogenetics

    Research involving molecular genetics, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, chromosomal abnormalities, genetic testing, and related technologies.

  3. Bioinformatics & Computational Genetics

    Research involving bioinformatics, computational genomics, data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational approaches in genetics and genomics.

  4. Pharmacogenomics & Translational Genetics

    Research related to pharmacogenomics, precision medicine, translational genetics, genomic medicine, and the application of genetic and genomic discoveries to clinical practice.

  5. Population & Epidemiological Genetics

    Research involving population genetics, genetic epidemiology, population genomics, genetic diversity, disease prevalence, and genetics-related studies across populations.

  6. ELSI, Education & Genetic Counseling

    Research and experiences related to ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI), genetic counselling, education, training, communication, policy, and professional practice in genetics and genomics.

Abstract Format

Maximum abstract length is 300 words. The word count includes the main abstract text and references, if references are required.

Abstract Title

The title should be concise, clear, and accurately reflect the content of the abstract. Please avoid unnecessary abbreviations in the title.

Authors

Please provide the full names of all authors in the order in which they should appear in the conference program. The presenting author must be clearly identified. Please do not include academic degrees or professional titles as part of the author names.

Author Affiliations

Please provide the affiliation for each author, and ensure the information is complete and accurate.

Please provide 3–5 keywords that accurately describe the main topics of your abstract. Keywords should help readers identify the scientific focus of your work.

References

References may be included where appropriate, up to a maximum of five. They should be relevant to the submitted abstract and are counted within the permitted word limit.

Figures, Tables and Images

Figures, tables, or images may be submitted if they are necessary to support the scientific content of the abstract.

Further instructions regarding permitted formats will be provided in the submission form.

Abstract Structure

Authors are encouraged to use an appropriate structure according to the type of work being submitted.

Original Research / Scientific Study

For studies reporting original scientific findings.

  1. Background

    Briefly describe the background, rationale, and objectives of the study.

  2. Methods

    Describe the study design, methodology, participants or samples, data collection, and analytical methods, as appropriate.

  3. Results

    Present the key findings of the study. Where applicable, include relevant numerical data or statistical findings.

  4. Discussion and Conclusions

    Summarize the significance of the findings and their implications for genetics, genomics, clinical practice, research, education, or related fields.

Case Report / Clinical Case

For individual clinical cases of particular interest.

  1. Introduction

    Briefly describe the clinical or scientific background and explain why the case is noteworthy.

  2. Case Report

    Describe the relevant clinical findings, investigations, genetic testing, diagnosis, management, and outcomes, as appropriate.

  3. Discussion

    Discuss the significance of the case and its relevance to current knowledge or clinical practice.

  4. Conclusions

    Provide the key learning points or conclusions from the case.

General Requirements

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstracts must be submitted through the official MGGA 2026 Abstract Submission Form.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information is accurate and complete.
  • Please carefully check the spelling of all author names, affiliations, institutions, and other information before submitting.
  • The presenting author must be clearly identified.
  • Authors should obtain the agreement of all co-authors before submitting the abstract.
  • Abstracts should contain original scientific, clinical, educational, or professional content relevant to the conference.
  • Submission of an abstract does not guarantee acceptance or presentation at the conference.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine the final acceptance status and presentation format of each submitted abstract.

Abstract Review and Selection

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Abstracts may be evaluated based on factors including:

  • Scientific quality
  • Originality and relevance
  • Clinical or research significance
  • Methodology
  • Clarity of presentation
  • Relevance to the conference themes
  • Suitability for the selected presentation format

The Scientific Committee will determine whether an abstract is accepted and whether it will be presented as an Oral Presentation or E-Poster. The decision of the Scientific Committee regarding abstract acceptance and presentation format will be final.

Notification of Acceptance

Authors will be notified of the outcome of their abstract submission by email. The notification will indicate whether the abstract has been:

  • Accepted for Oral Presentation
  • Accepted for E-Poster Presentation
  • Not accepted

Notification date: to be announced.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted will receive further instructions regarding presentation preparation and submission.

Presenting Author Requirement

For accepted abstracts, the presenting author is expected to attend the conference and present the accepted work in the assigned format.

If the presenting author is unable to attend, the Organizing Committee should be informed as soon as possible and a suitable replacement presenter may be required, subject to approval by the Organizing Committee.

Abstract Publication

Accepted abstracts may be included in the official E-Abstract Book, subject to the applicable publication and consent requirements. Authors will be asked to provide the necessary consent during the submission process.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to make minor formatting adjustments to accepted abstracts for publication purposes without changing the scientific content.

Before You Submit

Before submitting your abstract, please ensure that:

  • All author names are correct and in the intended order.
  • All author affiliations are complete and accurate.
  • The presenting author has been clearly identified.
  • The abstract has been proofread for spelling and grammatical errors.
  • The abstract complies with the submission requirements.
  • All co-authors have agreed to the submission.
  • Any necessary institutional or ethical approvals have been obtained.
  • The preferred presentation type has been selected.
  • The abstract is submitted before the stated deadline.

Please note that submitted information may be used in the conference program, abstract book, website, and other official conference materials, subject to the applicable consent requirements.
